In 2024, the parish formed a new link with the parishes of Christ Church, Luton, and St. Paul with All Saints, Chatham, in the Diocese of Rochester, in the UK.
Community developmet
Humekwa Parish is one of seventeen parishes currently taking part in the Church and Community Mobilization Programme. The CCMP is a Bible-based, guided training approach that a local church can use with its community to identify the resources they have, then, working together, bring about long-lasting, whole-life change. As local communities work through the process, they decide which activities will bring about the most effective and positive outcomes for them given their current situations. Training include learning about climate-smart agricultural methods, and how to form and mobilize Savings Groups to enable members to invest in farming activities and new business enterprises.
Pictures below show training on climate-smart agriculture being put into practice. Self-help groups have formed to save money together, so that members of the group can take out affordable loans to invest in farming activities or to start small businesses. The parish has shared the training with other denominations and sects, with the aim of building relationships and working together on shared community development projects.
